Henosepilachna sparsa merupakan serangga herbivora yang dapat menyebabkan kerusakan pada berbagai tanaman budidaya dengan penggerek permukaan daun. Preferensi serangga ini terhadap tanaman inang dipengaruhi oleh faktor fisiologis tanaman, seperti kandungan nutrisi dan senyawa alelokimia, serta kondisi lingkungan yang mendukung perkembangannya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui preferensi H. sparsa terhadap beberapa jenis tanaman budidaya guna memperoleh informasi yang dapat digunakan dalam strategi pengendalian hama berbasis ekologi. Metode yang digunakan meliputi pengamatan langsung terhadap pola makan serangga pada berbagai jenis tanaman serta analisis faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi preferensi inang. Hasil penelitian ini diharapkan dapat memberikan kontribusi dalam pengelolaan hama yang lebih efektif dan berkelanjutan, khususnya dengan pendekatan tanaman perangkap dan diversifikasi tanaman.
